Distinguishing between Living and Non-Living: Students will identify the characteristics that define living organisms and differentiate them from non-living objects.
Introducing Vertebrates and Invertebrates: We will begin exploring animal classification by learning about the presence or absence of a backbone. Students will be introduced to examples of both vertebrates and invertebrates.
We’ll be learning to distinguish between living and non-living objects, and we’ll start classifying animals based on whether they have a backbone (vertebrates) or not (invertebrates).
